Abstract

The following simulations are a variety of abstract systems that can be studied, modified, and used as a source of ideas for further investigation.

• Collapsing Cloud simulates a cloud of 100 identical particles that are initially stationary.

• Globular Cluster Collision simulates two globular clusters on a collision course, each containing 401 identical stars.

• Globular Cluster simulates a globular cluster of 401 identical stars.

• Many Body System simulates many massive stars orbiting a much more massive 'core' star.

• Projectile simulates the Earth together with a single projectile.

• Protoplanets 2D - 1 simulates a central star together with 400 identical protoplanets.

• Protoplanets 2D - 2 simulates a central star together with 400 identical protoplanets.

• Protoplanets 3D - 1 simulates a central star together with 400 identical protoplanets.

• Protoplanets 3D - 2 simulates a central star together with 400 identical protoplanets.

• Spiral Arms simulates a galaxy in which the core is represented by a single large particle, the rest of the galaxy is represented by a disc of 1,000 stars, and a second galaxy is represented by a single massive particle.

• Three Body System simulates three similar particles, with two particles orbiting each other in a close circular orbit, and as a pair orbiting a third particle in a much larger and eccentric orbit.

• Two Body System simulates the simplest simulation of interest - a two body system with one body orbiting the other in an eccentric orbit.
